Child Nutrition Program Procedure for Feeding during Pandemic Health Related Events

The following are the procedures for dealing with feeding during pandemic health related events in the Child Nutrition Program.

  • Employees and CNP subs will take their temperature each morning when arriving for work and document on the appropriate sheet.  If an employee has a temperature of 99.5 they will not be allowed to work.
  • Employees are to wash their hands and change gloves according to the HACCP Plan.
  • Employees will wear protective mouth and nose coverings when serving food.
  • Food preparation areas are to be cleaned and sanitized according to HACCP Plan using a quat solution or Clorox solution to reduce the potential of spreading germs.
  • Students and Adults will wash or sanitize their hands before entering the cafeteria.
  • Hand Sanitizer is provided before each serving line and at the cash register.
  • Students and Adults should stay 6 feet apart at all times.
  • CNP staff will serve each hot entrée in disposable containers.   Cold entrees will be in portion controlled individual closed containers to pickup.  Silverware will be individually wrapped with the napkin. Students will pick these items up and proceed to the cashier stand where they will use a bar code scanable card to scan their lunchroom account.
  • Superintendent/Principals will designate where the students will eat.
  • CNP staff or assigned personnel will wash and sanitize lunchroom tables between lunchroom times.
  • Any illness that is due to a pandemic health illness will be reported to the Cafeteria Manager and then the Cafeteria Manager will notify the CNP Director.   The CNP Director will notify the Superintendent and the building administrator.
  •  Cashiers will wear face shields when running the point of sale systems.
  • If a pandemic health illness occurs in the cafeteria or kitchen, the area will be completely cleaned and sanitized.
  • Employees do not have to wear a mask while eating lunch but should exercise social distancing.
  •
