Mrs. Brandice Lewis was selected as Marion County’s winning applicant for the Birmingham Zoo’s Digital Discovery Scholarship for Title 1 schools! There were over 250 applicants from schools throughout the state of Alabama to apply for this opportunity. The scholarship will allow her students to participate in a Spire Digital Discovery Program.

Elementary School - The school year will officially begin on August 13, with students in grades 1-4 returning to school on this day. However, if your last name starts with “A-L,” you will attend school on Thursday, August 13. If your last name begins with “M-Z,” your student will return on August 14. The entire student body will return on Monday, August 17. Information regarding Open House will be given at a later date. Kindergarten will begin their phase-in on Monday, August 17. The kindergarten teachers will contact their homeroom parents with more detailed information at a later date.

Reminder that report card pick up in drive through form will be tomorrow from 8:00-11:00 for K and 1st grade. From 12:00-3:00 for 2nd and 3rd in front of WES. Hope to see you then.

Many have ask about picking up supplies and we will have pick up days beginning in June. Due to our buildling floors being waxed starting tomorrow teachers will need time after that is finished to gather items for return. We will be sending those dates to you in a week or so.

So sorry totally forgot that Monday was Memorial Day and many will be elsewhere. We will change schedule to K and 1st Wednesday 8:00-11:00. 2nd and 3rd Wednesday 12:00-3:00 and 4th on Thursday 9:00-1:00. Really sorry about the mix up.

We will have report card pick up days next week. Kindergarten and 1st will pick up Monday from 8:00-11:00. 2nd and 3rd Monday from 12:00-3:00 and 4th on Tuesday from 9:00-12:00. We will have a table set up outside for drive through pickup. As you know next week will be my last due to retirement so I would like to see our students at pickup to say goodbye if at all possible.
