The Winfield City School district receives an A on the latest Alabama State Department of Education Report Card. The system ranks fifth in the state tied with Auburn and Hoover, scoring 93 on the report card. Each school received grades of 93 at Winfield Elementary School, 91 at Winfield Middle School, and 90 at Winfield City High School.
Winfield City Schools Superintendent Randy Thomley was happy about the Report card score and spoke of how each district member had a part in achieving that goal.
“This report card belongs to our support personnel, teachers, administration, school board, and families,” said Thomley. “It takes a village (Winfield)to raise the child, and Go Pirates!”
Winfield City High School Principal Dr. Adam Aldridge expressed excitement over his school’s score.
“I am very proud of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Aldridge. “The success of our school is due to a collaborative effort, and the hard work everyone put forth is reflected in the outstanding score that we received.”
Winfield Elementary School Principal Mallory Long praised her school’s faculty and staff for their achievement.
I am incredibly proud of the continuous hard work of our faculty and staff at Winfield Elementary and the entire Winfield City District,” said Long. “Our top priority is ensuring that our students meet their academic growth goals and grow physically, emotionally, and socially. Also, thank you to our community partners and parents for your unwavering support. We could only be successful with you!”
Winfield Middle School Principal Joshua Gurley spoke of the dedication of everyone in the school district.
“The state report card score is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and passion from each individual at Winfield City Schools,” said Gurley. “The teamwork is indicative of the outstanding job completed by the faculty, staff, and students.”
