We are excited to welcome back our 9th grade and 11th grade students tomorrow, August 12, 2021. Students may enter the building beginning a 7:25 a.m., and they must report directly to the commons area. At 7:53 a.m. students will be dismissed from the commons area to go their 1st period class. Classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. For student drop-off routes and locations, please refer to the map below. Car riders will be dismissed from 7th period at 3:02 p.m. On Friday, August 13, 2021, 10th and 12th grade students will return to school.


Winfield City High School will be transitioning students back to school next week. This is our schedule for next week. Thursday, August 12 - 9th & 11th grades only Friday, August 13 - 10th & 12th grades only.

WCHS 12th Grade Parents: Letting you know if you use PayPams for student lunchroom payments to turn off the automatic payments. Also, if their senior has money in the lunchroom please contact Tammy McDonald before Friday, May 21st for a refund of lunchroom money.

The Winfield City High School Art Classes will be hosting a Virtual Art Show. The art show will begin on May 3rd and run through May 9. You will be able to purchase art online. The link for each site will be on our school website.

Reminder! WCHS Lunchroom will be handing out 7 day meal boxes this afternoon from the commons area. These boxes contain 7 breakfast and 7 lunches ( the lunch entrée is Crispitoes ). Please remind your child to get their box. We also have gallons of milk to give away.

WCHS Family: Due to the delayed start today, report cards will be send home tomorrow, March 19, 2021 instead of today.

Varsity Girls Softball takes down Fayette County 3-0 and Sipsey Valley 15-1 today @ Hamilton.


It didn’t end how we would have liked, but I am so proud of our team and the coaches. A big shout out to the entire town too. We took over the Bill Harris Arena and represented our town well.

WCHS: We will be celebrating Kindness Week Feb 23-26. Please encourage Everyone to BE KIND!! We will be doing a canned food drive for DHR to supply food for needy families. Students can put their donations on tables outside of the library. On Friday, Feb 26, students can pay $1 to their homeroom teacher and wear a hat. Money collected will be given to the Lane Woodley scholarship fund.

Angela Haley- Harris came and spoke with WCHS students today about the dangers associated with sex trafficking and abduction crimes. The picture is in recognition of Aniah Blanchard, her daughter that was abducted from Auburn, AL. Students were asked to wear blue.

WCHS Family: Please congratulate Coach Reaves on being recognized by the NFHS as South Section Boys Track & Field (Outdoor) Coach of the Year!!! He was nominated by the AHSAA and competed for this honor against coaches from all over the Southeast.

Congratulations to Sarah Henslee and Jessica Tidwell on making All State!!! Sarah made 2nd chair in our district and Jessica Tidwell made 5th chair. This was Jessica's 2nd All State in a row!!! WCHS could not be more proud of these young ladies and their accomplishments!!!

WCHS Family: Come out and support Pirates Basketball Tonight as they take on Red Bay in 3 games. The first game starts at 5 PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance through GoFan. Tickets will not be available at the gate.
