Students: Mrs. Weeks just sent out an email that contains instructions for the selection of courses for next school year. Please read the instructions carefully and go over the options with your parent(s). There is a one weeks window to complete your requests.

Seniors: Please come by the school to pick up your diploma and your sign. We are here from 8AM to 3 PM Mon- Thurs.

Students: Today will be the last day to bring your laptops by for drop off at the high school. We will take them until 12. You can also return books, get your report card and clean out your locker. Seniors: We have your diplomas in the main office. See us today!

Reminder: Happy Memorial Day!!! Students can return their laptops, textbooks, and library books tomorrow and Wednesday from 9-12. We will allow 10 students in at at time.

REMINDER: Graduation practice is today, Wednesday, May 20th, at 5:30 PM. You must be present to participate in graduation on Friday. If you have any library books that you have not turned in, we can take those from you tonight.

High School Students will be allowed to come and clear out lockers and return books and laptops on Tuesday, May 26th and Wednesday, May 27th between 9 AM and 12 PM. We will only allow 10 students in at a time due to the social distancing mandates.

BOOKS DUE: please return your library books to school Wednesday, May 13th between the hours of 9 AM and 12 PM. Mrs. Haney will in the library to collect them. If you are not able to drop them off then, you can drop them off in the main office Mon - Fri during the same hours.

REMINDER: If you have work that you have agreed to pick up at the high school, please swing by at any time Monday-Friday from 9-12 to get it. Teachers are placing new work in the main office weekly. Call us if we can be of assistance.

Students it will soon be time to start thinking about scheduling for next year. If you are interested in applying for year book staff check your email for an application from Mrs. Stovall and submit by the deadline. We will be in contact with you soon about your other classes.

All dual enrollment students, please check your school email for an email from Mrs. Weeks about your college class going online starting on Monday.

I am sure that by now each of you have heard about the closure of school after Wednesday. Due to this information, we will move the prom to Wednesday afternoon. We will discuss additional details as we arrive to school on Monday.

National Honor Society Induction tomorrow morning at the high school gym at 9 a.m.

Congrats to the following band members. Holden Guyton and Jessica Tidwell make District Honor Band. Jessica Tidwell also made All-State Band. In addition to this we had a middle school student, Corbin Bryant make the middle school All District Honor Band. GREAT JOB PIRATES!

The deadline to apply for an Alfa Foundation Scholarship* or an Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation Scholarship is rapidly approaching. Please encourage your college-bound friends and family members to apply. Applications for both scholarships can be found at http://www.alfafarmers.org. To be eligible for an Alfa Foundation Scholarship, the scholarship applicant must be a member of the Alabama Farmers Federation, and the membership must be issued in the name of the scholarship applicant. High school seniors and post-secondary undergraduates enrolled or planning to enroll in a two or four-year college, university or technical school in the state of Alabama should apply. One hundred scholarships worth $1,000 each will be awarded statewide. The application deadline is January 31, 2020. In addition, the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation will award up to sixty-seven $1,750 scholarships for students majoring in agriculture or forestry at Auburn University and Alabama A&M University. The application deadline for this scholarship is also January 31, 2020.

Dear Veterans, Family and Friends: You are cordially invited to attend Winfield High School's annual Veterans Day assembly, on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 9 AM in the gym at the high school. All Veterans are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided after the assembly.
