The Winfield City Boys and Girls Track & Field team finished up their season at the State track meet in Cullman on May 1st and 2nd. The boys compiled enough points to finish in 4th place in the state, and both teams had several individual performances that were outstanding, and one individual State Champion.
The girls track team finished 9th in the state, with Jayci Griffin finishing 3rd in the Javelin throw with a throw of 111'4". MaKayla May finished 2nd in the state in the shot put with a throw of 33' 7".
The boys were anchored by Kaden Williamson, who was the individual State Champion in the discus throw, throwing 147' 7", and he was a runner-up in the shot put, throwing 48' 1".
Dylan Benton was the runner-up in the pole vault clearing 13'.
Slate Gilbert was the runner up in the High Jump clearing 6' 4".
