Winfield City Schools Child Nutrition is serving up fresh strawberries this week at lunch.
Antioxidants in strawberries, including vitamin C, can support your immune system and may lower your chances of getting sick when you’re around germs. They also help curb inflammation, manage your blood sugar, and guard against health conditions like high cholesterol, cancer, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Toby Slough, a well-known children’s author, spoke with Winfield City School’s students on Monday, February 12th. He told students about mental health issues and how to persevere and accomplish great things!

Seniors - a requirement for the Bevill State and Winfield Foundation scholarships is to have completed the FAFSA. The FAFSA needs to be completed by March. See Mr. Isom or Mrs. Taylor for help with the FAFSA. The next FAFSA workshop is Tuesday, February 20, from 1-3 pm in the library. Also having completed the FAFSA is a requirement for graduation.
Winfield City High School will host a FAFSA help event in the library on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.. Parents will need to bring 2022 tax information. This application qualifies students for Pell Grant, loans, work-study programs, and other types of financial aid for college, and many scholarships require that the FAFSA be submitted. Submitting the FAFSA is now a graduation requirement for all high school seniors in the state.

The Marion Winston Youth Leadership Academy toured the capitol building. Charlee Kate Aldridge and Career Coach Devin Taylor represented WCHS. Thank you, Representative Tracy Estes, for lining up the tour and taking time with us.
