We are pleased to welcome Kaitlyn Tidwell as a Kindergarten teacher at Winfield Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Tidwell earned her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama in 2019 and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Elementary Education, also from the University of North Alabama. Mrs. Tidwell has four years’ experience at Woodland Forrest Elementary School in Tuscaloosa, AL, where she taught 5th grade, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. She is married to Tyler Tidwell and they have a puppy named Hank.
“Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be a part of the Winfield City School System,” said Tidwell. “I grew up here; it's home, it's community, it's family.”
“The best part has been knowing that my mother (Stacie White) left a legacy of hard work, learning, and love in the same building that I now get to teach in. To say I'm grateful to be here, would be an understatement.”

The WCHS band had a group of band students attend Jacksonville State University's band day today. The students got to join the Marching Southerns on the field at halftime to play four songs. Attending the event today were Corbin Bryant, Eli Upton, Jeremiah Connor, Kaden Williamson, Morgan Palmer, Wren Williamson, Kalee Upton, and Keeley Gray.
