Congratulations to freshman Jayci Griffin for securing 3rd place in the state in Class 3A javelin at the 2025 AHSAA State Track & Field Championships!
Winfield Pirates won game 1 yesterday 14-2 vs Vinemont and was tied 1-1 in game 2 in the top of the 3rd inn. Winfield will finish game 2 today at Cullman High School at 6:00, and if needed game 3 will follow. The winner of the series will advance to the Final Four next week. Go Pirates!

May 2, 2025: This is a message from Winfield City Schools. Due to the threat of severe weather, buses are being held at school. Children are remaining inside the building until the threat of weather passes. Car riders are allowed to leave at normal time. Journeys will meet and we will follow our severe weather plan if needed.

Mrs Patton, Mrs. Cook, and WCHS Students closed out Pirate Spotlight 97.7 Winfield Radio with Doug Threadgill for the school year with a focus on what the senior class has coming up and what they have been up to so far.
Career Tech Cosmetology Disney Fashion Show was a big hit with faculty and students. Mrs. Handley and her cosmetology students did a great job with costumes, hair, and makeup. Thank you to all faculty, parents, students and community members that supported and helped with this event.

School Lunch Hero Day in 2025 is on May 2nd, the first Friday of the month. This day is a time to celebrate and thank the school nutrition professionals who provide healthy meals to students. It's an opportunity for students, parents, and school staff to recognize the important role these professionals play in supporting student health and learning.

Isaac McNeill and Briar Kelley have qualified for the State Fishing Competition, representing Winfield City Schools. The state tournament will be held on May 10, 2025, in Decatur.
