WCHS: ✨ “High Attendance, High Comfort—Pajamas Tomorrow!” (December 12, 2025)

Our health science and cosmetology students had a great time visiting WMS to share some of the things they’ve learned in their CTE classes! 🩺💇‍♀️✨ They enjoyed leading a lesson on building good daily routines and self-care, helping younger students learn simple habits that support good health. Dr. Bowen and Dr. Claus shared valuable information about both the Traditional Nursing Program and the new Joint Enrollment Nursing Program offered through Bevill State and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Through this innovative joint enrollment pathway, students can earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from UAB while completing their Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at Bevill State — opening doors to advanced credentials and expanded career opportunities.

We appreciate their dedication to educating and inspiring our future healthcare professionals! 💙🩺✨

✨ Your Money Your Life – Senior Budgeting Simulation ✨ Our seniors participated in Your Money Your Life, an interactive financial literacy program presented by the Alabama Cooperative Extension! 💰🎓 This hands-on simulation gives students a real-world scenario—complete with a career, monthly income, and family situation—and challenges them to make budgeting decisions at stations such as housing, transportation, groceries, child care, insurance, and more. It’s an eye-opening experience that helps students understand the true cost of living and how to make smart financial choices as adults. A huge thank-you to Rebecca Danley and Carla Lewis for bringing this experience to our students. We also appreciate all of our amazing volunteers who manned the stations and helped make today’s event such a success.
