The guys had several new faces hitting the trail today. One that wasn’t new, ML Whitehead. Our team Captain led the way for the Pirates with a 19:00 flat time. That was good enough for 15th overall out of 188 men.
Case Bishop finished his first race for the Pirates in the no 2 position with a time of 21:58.
Ridge Miles (22:52) Grayson Foster (22:59) and Zeplin York (23:14) finished the scoring. Max Muck and Draven Bowles finished in the 2 pusher spots.

Team 4 for the ladies picked right back up where Team 3 left off, on the podium. The ladies are the Brooks Tennessee River Classic Small Varsity Champions.
Team Captain, Audrey Patton, led the way with a time of 21:33. Good enough for a 4th place overall out of 135 ladies finish and “Elite Runner” status.
Jolene Ballard finished with a time of 22:58 placing her at 8th overall and “Elite Runner” status.
Team Captain Audrey Spillers finished 11th overall with a 23:47 and new comers Sterling Wynn (24:43) and Emma Foster (25:11) rounded out the scoring for the ladies. Emmie Spillers and Lily Jungels finished in the 2 pusher spots.

Our ladies JV squad came away with a 3rd place overall podium finish in the 2 mile race. They were led by Jala Kate Gibbs with a time of 16:48, followed Sadie Fowler, MaKynlee Porter, Brooklyn Farris and Nevaeh DellaSandro.

The Winfield City Pirates are taking on Northside this coming Friday, August 21st. While we hope to see a packed stadium, we know not everyone can make it to the game in person. If you can't be there to cheer from the stands, you can listen to all the live action from your phone, computer, or any Mixlr-compatible device!

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Winfield City High School will utilize the OpenGate weapon detection system at tonight’s jamboree football game to enhance safety at our athletic events.
These free-standing scanners are designed to detect weapons while allowing everyday items—such as cell phones, coins, and car keys—to pass through without triggering an alert.
What to Expect:
All spectators will be required to pass through a weapons detector before entering the event.
Spectators will walk through the scanner one at a time with their personal belongings.
If the scanner is triggered, additional screening may be required. This may include emptying pockets, screening with a handheld wand, and/or a bag search.
