At the May 12th meeting of the Winfield City Board of Education, the board recognized 5 seniors for scoring 30 or above on their ACT test. Congratulations to the following seniors: Baron Smith, Korbin Marcum, Emma Hollister, Jack Hayden Cook, and Gunner Cagle.

Our students in grades 9–12 had a great opportunity Friday at our Career Fair! We would like to thank all of the vendors who took the time to invest in our students, share information about career pathways, and help prepare them for their futures. Your support and willingness to connect with our students truly makes a difference.
A special thank you to Mrs. Taylor for all of the hard work that went into planning and organizing the Career Fair. We appreciate your dedication to providing valuable opportunities for our students!
Today our Cosmetology students put on an amazing Fashion Show for the student body featuring faculty and staff as models! 💇♀️✨
Our students showcased their talents by styling hair and applying makeup for each model before they walked the runway. We are so proud of the hard work, creativity, and professionalism our students displayed throughout the event.

The Winfield City Boys and Girls Track & Field team finished up their season at the State track meet in Cullman on May 1st and 2nd. The boys compiled enough points to finish in 4th place in the state, and both teams had several individual performances that were outstanding, and one individual State Champion.
The girls track team finished 9th in the state, with Jayci Griffin finishing 3rd in the Javelin throw with a throw of 111'4". MaKayla May finished 2nd in the state in the shot put with a throw of 33' 7".
The boys were anchored by Kaden Williamson, who was the individual State Champion in the discus throw, throwing 147' 7", and he was a runner-up in the shot put, throwing 48' 1".
Dylan Benton was the runner-up in the pole vault clearing 13'.
Slate Gilbert was the runner up in the High Jump clearing 6' 4".
Congratulations to all the individual medalists and the teams overall.

Winfield City Schools Interim Superintendent and Federal Programs Director, Mrs. Jennifer Simmons, just received an award as an MTSS Rising Star. This was chosen out of districts all over the state. The Alabama Multi-Tier System of Supports (AL-MTSS) is a proactive framework focusing on academic, behavioral, and wellness needs for the whole child.

School Lunch Hero Day, celebrated annually on the first Friday of May, honors Child Nutrition Professions (CNP) for their dedication to feeding students nutritious meals. Established in 2013 by the School Nutrition Association and author Jarrett J. Krosoczka, the day celebrates the "heroes" who manage meals, allergies, and service.

Our 8th grade students had an exciting day touring the high school and CTE Center!
At the CTE Center, students had the opportunity to experience the Skills for Success Career Exploration mobile training trailer, where they engaged in hands-on activities—testing out driving simulators and exploring a wide range of career pathways.
