Winfield City Elementary School is celebrating Mardi Gras today in the lunchroom.
We are gearing up for Alabama Sun Bucks, preloaded cards with a one-time benefit for summer, and need your help to ensure student information is up to date. Parents who have changed their address since registration need to contact their child's school and update their address in PowerSchool by February 28th. Keeping records current will help us serve families more efficiently and make sure children have access to nutritious meals.
Our WCHS juniors put in the work at ACT Bootcamp today! 📚✏️ Not only did they stay focused, but they represented WCHS with excellent behavior.
We are so grateful to Mrs. Dana Peoples and State Bank & Trust for treating our students to a delicious lunch. A special thank you to Faith Church for allowing us to use their facilities and helping make the day a success. Community support like this makes a difference!

Today, on National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, we would like to recognize and thank Officer Steve Thompson for his dedication to Winfield City Schools. Officer Thompson plays an important role in keeping our students and staff safe while also building positive relationships throughout our school community. He is more than just a law enforcement officer—he is a mentor, a role model, and a trusted presence on our campus. We are grateful for his commitment, support, and the care he shows our students each day. Thank you, Officer Thompson, for all you do for Winfield City Schools!

A huge THANK YOU to our students and the Winfield community for making our very first blood drive such a success. The LifeSouth Blood Drive, hosted by our Career Tech student organizations, truly showed what can happen when a community comes together for a great cause.
Our goal was 15 units of blood — and you helped us collect 54 units! That’s incredible and will make a real difference in so many lives.
We are so proud of our students for leading this effort and so grateful for a community that always shows up to support. Winfield, you made this possible! 🩸👏

Each student selected a model and spent the day showcasing their skills through professional hair styling and makeup application. From start to finish, their hard work, talent, and attention to detail were on full display — and the results were absolutely beautiful.
A special thank you to Mrs. Handley for her leadership and dedication to our students. She and her students did an outstanding job!

Officers from our CTE student organizations enjoyed serving at WES by welcoming students, opening car doors, and helping them start their day with a smile.
Each year Winfield Elementary School awards scholarships for Seniors at Winfield High School. This year we will sell friendship bracelets to help raise money for the scholarships. In order to purchase and send a bracelet to your child's friends, you simply send $1.00 for each bracelet you wish to purchase and complete the order form by February 10th. The bracelets will be attached to a Valentine Card, addressed, and given your child's friends.
