Rick Bannister, founder of Neighborhood Bridges, came to Winfield City Schools on Monday, Sep. 25. Area Director Jill Spann, organized a meeting with Mr. Bannister and the Winfield City Schools guidance counselors, principals, and the steering committee for Neighborhood Bridges. Everyone was updated on the progress of this great organization. Neighborhood Bridges is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was launched in 2017 by Rick Bannister. Winfield City Schools partners with this organization to help students and families in need. The mission of Neighborhood Bridges is to bridge communities with schools in providing basic needs, removing barriers, and seeking equity for students so they can engage and succeed in life. We use technology and social media to advocate for children and families in need. We engage the community via a campaign for kindness to fill those needs. You maybe thinking how can I help? You can help us by subscribing to our web site www.neighborhoodbridges.org. At the top of the page you will click on the tab, communities, scroll down until you see Winfield. Click on Winfield, and fill in your email address. When there is a need at one of our schools, it will be posted here. You will receive an email that will tell you the need of a student. If you can help fill that need there is a place for you to click. We also have a donate button, that allows you to donate any amount at any time. Our facebook page is Neighborhood Bridges Winfield. We live in a wonderful community that always is willing to help. Neighborhood Bridges Winfield now has 11 sponsors: Icey Gator, WoodmenLife, FBLA, The Nelson and Charleen Kemp Foundation, April O’Neal-Make Up & Skincare, Dr. Todd Fetter, Encore, Modern Woodmen, Dr. Clark Weeks, Hollingsworth Family Dentistry and The Citizen’s Bank. These sponsors and continued donations are how we help our students. 100% of all donations go to help our Winfield City students.
