Progress reports and attendance profiles will be sent home with students today, Thursday, September 15th. The attendance profile will provide a summary of any day(s) a student has missed. Make sure to look over the attendance profile and discuss absenteeism with your child. A student that accumulates 20 or more absences for the year will be required to attend summer school.
Mrs. Gina Simpson, 1990 WCHS graduate, spoke to our high school students today. She has a B.S. in Business Management and a M.S. in Marketing with a concentration in entrepreneurship from The University of Alabama. She is a professor at U of A and a motivational speaker. She encouraged students to work hard and follow their dreams.




Due to rising cost, the current convenience fee of $1.95 is no longer sufficient to cover payment processing and website maintenance with PayPams (cafeteria payments). The convenience fee will be raised to $2.40 per transaction after November 1, 2022.

The Pirate Spotlight is a weekly LIVE broadcast on WKXM 97.7-Each Thursday faculty/staff/students share with the community about events, activities, and special school functions that are currently happening at WCS. This week, Nathan Alexander, Mrs. Parrish, and Mrs. Ashley Seals shared some details about the wonderful things taking place in our Special Education Department. Reminding everyone that tomorrow is Picture Day at Winfield Middle School. This picture will be used in the yearbook.
We are excited to welcome Brittany Behel to WCHS as the new health sciences teacher.

This year there are 82 WCHS students taking a total of 101 Bevill State dual enrollment classes. We want to thank Bevill State for providing CTE, STEM & academic scholarships to 50 students. We also want to thank our board of education for providing scholarships to the remaining 32 students. None of our dual enrollment students will pay out of pocket this year. It's great to be a Pirate.
Courses taken include welding, automotive, drafting, machine tool technology, child development, computer science, forestry, vegetation management, electrical, diesel, engineering design technology, computer science, English 101, US History 201, Psychology, and Biology 103.
It’s an important day at WES! Each student is spinning a wheel to see which house they are joining. The competitions are based on displaying leadership characteristics. WES is growing leaders!
