
The WCHS Homecoming Parade will be Friday, October 1st at 2:00 p.m. The varsity homecoming football game will be played on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. with homecoming court presentations occurring at halftime. **The map along with this post shows the locations for parade line-up.** The following is a schedule of events and procedures to follow when checking your child out from school on Friday for the parade: 12:00 – Students in grades 7/8 may check out of their 5th period classrooms and 5th/6th grade students will check out from homeroom classes. 1:30 – Float line-up will be on Park Street beside the Middle School (Grade level floats only for grades 5-8 will be stationed in the grassy field in front of WMS. Other floats will line up on Park Street behind WMS after school floats.) 1:30 – Students remaining at school will walk to the parade with homeroom or 5th period teachers. 2:00 – Parade 2:25 – Teachers and remaining students walk back to school. 2:45 – Buses run as scheduled.


Everyone come out to support the Lady Pirates volleyball team as they play Carbon Hill at Winfield at 5:30 on Tuesday, Sep. 28.
It is a crucial area game and we need everyone’s support.

**Schedule Update**
The Jr. High Football team will travel to play Caledonia, MS on Thursday, Sep. 30 with the 7th grade playing at 5:30 and the 8th grade to follow. No Practice today for the players and we will practice Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.

The Jr. High game scheduled for Tuesday, Sep. 28 with Northridge has been moved to Tuesday, Oct. 12. An updated schedule is on the middle school football page.

The nicest teacher ever, Mrs. Collins, has made an internal move from WMS 8th grade English teacher to our WCHS 10th grade English department. We are so happy to have Mrs. Collins at the WCHS to help us continue to teach our children.

Tomorrow's pep rally will be held at the track on the elementary campus at 1:30 p.m. All three schools will be in attendance to support our Pirates as they get ready to take on the Brilliant Tigers tomorrow night! Parents are welcomed to attend the pep rally, but we ask that you sit in the bleachers.

The Winfield City Schools will offer the flu vaccine on Friday, October 8th. This is a date change from October 1st because of Homecoming. Forms were sent home with students. You may contact your child's school if you did not get a form and would like to have your child vaccinated.

Due to field conditions, the Jr. High football game scheduled for tonight at Hamilton has been cancelled.
