Attention All Parents/Guardians of Full Time Virtual Learning Students *Please read the entire post* The Winfield City Schools Child Nutrition continues in its commitment to serve all students including those who are learning virtually from home this school year. For these students, we are offering weekly meal kits that contain 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Meal kits for full time virtual students are by pre-order only. Meal kits will include a variety of fresh, frozen and shelf stable foods. Meals will be available for pick up on Tuesdays* starting August 25, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. All meals will be picked up at your child’s school, at the cafeteria outside door. There a yellow sign that says “Virtual Learning Meal Pick Up”. All virtual learning students will receive a Meal Identification Card**. This card will allow anyone to pick up the child’s pre-ordered meal kit even if the child is not in the car. To pre-order your child’s meal kit, please sign up on the linked Google Form. Options are available for you to sign up for multiple weeks at a time. If you should sin up weekly, please sign up no later than 4pm the Friday before the next week’s pick up. Virtual Meal Order Form. The price of the meal kits depends on your child’s meal eligibility. Free – No Charge Reduced - $3.50 Paid - $18.75 The preferred method of payment for these meals is through PayPAMS app. More information can be found on our Virtual Student meal ordering Guidelines page: Click Here. *the first pick up will be Wednesday, August 19, 2020 with three days’ worth of school meals to accommodate the first three days of school. Meals for this pre-order only must be received no later than Monday, August 17, 2020 by 4 p.m. **We understand that the timing of the meal pick up simply may not work for all families. By having the Meal Identification card, this will allow more flexibility for the parent/guardian to ask another family member, friend, neighbor, etc. to pick up the meal and deliver it to the student. The person picking up the meal MUST have the Meal ID card if the child is not in the vehicle. At this time, a district sponsored deliver option is not available. Online Free and Reduced Meal Applications are available for parents/guardians to fill out for the 2020-2021 school year. It is especially important for all students (including those who are 100% virtual learning students) to have an application on file. Please visit http://www.winfield.k12.al.us/o/winfield/page/apply-now-free-reduced-application to fill out your online applications. The online method is the preferred way for you to fill out an application as it is the fastest way to get your child application processed and the most confidential. Your child will receive a paper copy of the Free and Reduced Meal application in their back to school paperwork. If you have already completed the online application, you DO NOT have to fill out the paper application. New WCS Schools Calendar and Start day for Students

Hello Winfield City High School Family: On Friday August 7th we will have computer pickup for students starting the year virtually. The time for pickup will be from 2-4. Please share this announcement with anyone you know that has committed to start the year virtually.

Hello Winfield City High School Family: Parking Decal and Locker Pickups have been set. 12th and 11th grades are Aug. 6th. 12th is 10:30-11:30 and 11th is 1-2. 10th and 9th grades are Aug. 7th from 9-10 and 10-11 in that order.

Parents may now deposit money into their students account with PayPams, there is a $1.95 fee per transaction.

Winfield City Schools offers 9 bus routes through the school transportation department. This video provides information for parents that have a student riding a school bus. Winfield Middle School Football practice will start on Monday, Aug. 10, at 3:30. This is for students going into the 7th and 8th grades. All players will need to report to the middle school gym by 3:15. You will need cleats, black, gold, or white. T shirt black, gold or white. Shorts black, gold, or white. Every player must have a physical. Players should also register and fill out the forms on dragonfly. As a reminder below is a post from earlier this summer regarding dragonfly. ***** Parents/Guardians of Winfield High School Athletes, The Alabama High School Athletic Association is now requiring that student sport participation forms be completed and filled using an online database called DragonFly MAX. Instead of receiving a paper packet of forms, each parent will be required to fill out all of your paperwork online this year. Listed below are the steps for signing up for DragonFly Max. You can download using a smartphone or by going to www.dragonflymax.com Steps for downloading and setting up an account -Download DragonFly Max app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store -Create an Account with your parent information. -Follow steps for receiving verification code via email that was used during the sign up process. -Plug the code given into the app to complete sign up. Once the account is created, you will be asked to select what you do at Winfield High School. You will then complete the following steps: • Click Parent, Select Winfield High School Winfield, AL (FFAHT8) • Add Child and select the sports that your child will play during the 2020-21 school year. • Then you will be required to fill out demographics on your child. Then the following three forms must be completed before your child can participate in summer workouts: 1. Participant agreement, consent, release 2. Concussion Information 3. Physical The home screen will show the remaining forms that will need to be completed. Complete all forms but the Sportsmanship Certification and Physical if your child had received a physical during the 2019-2020 school year. If you need a physical form they can be picked up and returned to the school office or can be printed from the following link.
