Parents/Guardians of Winfield High School Athletes,
The Alabama High School Athletic Association is now requiring that student sport participation forms be completed and filled using an online database called DragonFly MAX. Instead of receiving a paper packet of forms, each parent will be required to fill out all of your paperwork online this year. Listed below are the steps for signing up for DragonFly Max. You can download using a smartphone or by going to www.dragonflymax.com
Steps for downloading and setting up an account
-Download DragonFly Max app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store
-Create an Account with your parent information.
-Follow steps for receiving verification code via email that was used during the sign up process.
-Plug the code given into the app to complete sign up.
Once the account is created, you will be asked to select what you do at Winfield High School. You will then complete the following steps:
• Click Parent, Select Winfield High School Winfield, AL (FFAHT8)
• Add Child and select the sports that your child will play during the 2020-21 school year.
• Then you will be required to fill out demographics on your child.
Then the following three forms must be completed before your child can participate in summer workouts:
1. Participant agreement, consent, release
2. Concussion Information
3. Physical
The home screen will show the remaining forms that will need to be completed. Complete all forms but the Sportsmanship Certification and Physical if your child had received a physical during the 2019-2020 school year. If you need a physical form they can be picked up and returned to the school office or can be printed from the following link.

Good Evening Pirate Family,
I know most of you saw Governor Ivey’s press conference today requiring that masks be worn through the end of August. We have made preparations for your child to come back to school safely and with social distancing protocols in place where applicable. We will follow the governor’s mandates in all situations where social distancing is not possible.
We are in the process of building barriers to put on tables in the elementary school classrooms to allow students to pull down their masks while in class. This will make learning easier for the younger children. We will do everything possible to try and distance students in the classrooms to allow for normal learning, but there may be times when students do have to wear masks in classrooms. We realize that this situation will
not be optimal for learning, but we will follow State and ADPH guidelines.
I am excited about seeing all our students when we return to school. We have taken many new precautions to keep our students safe, and we will do our best to protect our students and staff. Stay tuned to our website and social media sites for any changing information. We will do our best to keep you informed, but sometimes things are changing so fast that it’s not possible to send out an update for every change. Please be patient with us as we do our best to prepare for the return of students during this pandemic. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school or the Central Office.
God Bless and Stay Safe,
Chris Cook, Superintendent
