At the December 2024 board meeting, it was voted to move the PD day on April 24th to April 18th . April 18th will be a PD day for faculty; students will be out of school. April 24th will be a regular school day.
The Winfield Cheerleaders are putting on a Princess Ball on Saturday, January 18th from 6pm-9pm. The price is $40 for children and $25 for adults. We can accept cash at the door or a check made out to WCHS. This is a fundraiser to send the cheerleaders off to Nationals in Orlando. We will have refreshments, dancing, hair, and makeup with real princesses! We would love to see you there! Please contact Sandra Seals (205-412-1646) or Ashley Wilson (205-495-0041) for more information.
We would like to invite all enrolled students to eat a free breakfast and free lunch with us.
When students dine with us, they help our nutrition program.
DID YOU KNOW?
Our nutrition department is self-sustaining. We do not operate on local tax dollars to pay for meals.
Our program is funded based on the number of students that dine with us and all of our funds stay within Winfield City Child Nutrition Programs.

Congratulations to the Winfield City Schools Child Nutrition Staff. 100% of the Child Nutrition Staff has
earned their Level 4 Certification with the School Nutrition Association. The staff is required to have 15
continuing education hours per year to keep their Level 4 certification with the School Nutrition
Association. Level 4 certification is the highest level of certification with the School Nutrition
Association. All the Child Nutrition Staff are members of the School Nutrition Association.
The School Nutrition Association (SNA) is a recognized nonprofit organization that advocates for the
quality and availability of school nutrition programs. The SNA’s mission is to ensure that all students
have access to nutritious meals at school.
Additionally, 100% of the Child Nutrition Staff are ServSafe Certified. A ServSafe Manager certification is
a nationally recognized credential that verifies an individual has the knowledge and skills to effectively
manage food safety practices in a restaurant or other food service operation, demonstrating their
competency in preventing foodborne illnesses through proper handling and training of staff, as provided
by the National Restaurant Association (NRA) through their ServSafe program; it requires passing a
comprehensive exam after completing a training course covering topics like foodborne illness, sanitation
procedures, and proper food storage.
This dual certification underscores the dedication of the Winfield City Schools Child Nutrition Program to
delivering nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of every
student.

Beginning January 13, 2025, there will be no student check-outs after 2:00 pm. If your student has a mandatory appointment at this time, an appointment card from a physician or dentist must be presented. However, we do understand that emergencies occur and will take each situation under consideration if they arise. Thank you for assisting our school with safety and creating a smooth daily dismissal for our students.

We are very proud to announce that, once again, Winfield City Schools is in the top 5 in state report card scores! Where the scores give us all affirmation, we truly believe the real prize and trophy is that success is and will always be the students. So, with this in mind, it is of utmost importance to thank our families, teachers, support personnel, administration, school board members, law enforcement, first responders, city officials, and most of all, the children who all have ownership in the success of Winfield City Schools. This success truly makes the statement that it takes the village to raise a child in our community. We are committed to continuing the “Tradition of Excellence” in our schools, a commitment that we hope will reassure you of our dedication to the future of our students.

Congratulations to Willa Simmons for signing to play softball for Meridan Community College.

Congratulations to Kennah Beth Lacy for signing to play softball for The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
