The varsity cheerleaders will host a mini cheer clinic starting tomorrow, October 17th-October 19th. They will be practicing at the Elementary School Gymnasium from 3:00pm-4:15pm. They will perform at the game on October 20th against Fayette. This will be for ages 2 years old and up and it costs $30 per child. We can't wait to see you there!
State Wide College Application Week

Dady's Roasted Corn visited all three campuses last week. All students enjoyed the roasted corn.




Today begins our grandparent's luncheon with students in PreK and Kindergarten. We will start signing people in at 10:00. We look forward to having you with us!

The 4-H Chick Chain Project teaches young people recommended management practices for growing and raising chickens. Participation helps youth develop poultry management skills, learn to produce healthy chickens, build awareness of business management, develop record-keeping skills (income and expenses), contribute to their home food supply, and realize the pride of accomplishment.

The Marion Winston Youth Leadership Academy met today for Orientation with two 11th grade participants representing each school. Miles Miles and Charlee Kate Aldridge represented WCHS. The students participated in activities to get to know one another.




Tonight we will be hosting the Tarrant Wildcats at Estes Hudson Stadium for Homecoming. The Homecoming Court should be at the stadium at 5:00 p.m. for pictures. Homecoming Court and Queen presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. prior to the game.
Parents of WES: For students checking out at 11:45, we will dismiss the students in the same manner that we conduct afternoon car rider dismissal. You will not come into the building.
Also, the elementary campus will only allow the remaining students and faculty to observe the parade.

This is a message from Winfield City Schools. Winfield City Schools will be closed for students on Monday, October 9 and Tuesday, October 10, 2023. All employees will report to schools at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, October 10 for a Professional Development Day.
Homecoming Parade/Activities
Friday, October 6 will be Winfield City Schools’ Homecoming. We have several activities planned for this day. However, we are also mindful of the weather conditions. There is a slight chance for rain. The safety of our students will always be our first priority. With this in mind, we will continue to monitor weather conditions and make an announcement to inform all stakeholders about activity plans should there be a change. We will do our best to have a parade and homecoming activities at our football game. Weather patterns change and are unpredictable at times. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we prepare for these activities.
Local Reading Specialist - Kaye Carr, Curriculum Coordinator- Kallie Woodley, and Elementary Principal - Mallory Long, attended the Alabama Literacy Conference today in Birmingham.

Pre-sale of football game tickets will be today and tomorrow (10/3 and 10/4) at the high school office. The cost of pre-sale tickets is $8 (Cash). Tickets at the gate on Friday night will be $10.
Winfield City Schools will be celebrating National School Lunch Week October 9th – 13th. Calling all heroes and heroines-this NSLW, we are celebrating the power of school lunch! In the quest for academic success, research shows that healthy school lunches give kids the stats they nee to come out on top. During this week we will have a special treat for our students. 7th and 8th grade boys basketball tryouts will be on Wednesday October 18th @ 4:30 in the middle school gym. The gym will be open for practice before tryouts.
